Out and About – The Dead Sea Scrolls & The 80th Scripps College Ceramic Annual Experience one of the Twentieth Century’s most significant archaeological discoveries when the Dead Sea Scrolls make their only West Coast appearance. The one-of-a-kind exhibition at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California features an historic collection of scroll fragments, ancient artifacts and interactive displays as well as valuable information on how 21st Century preservation methods are helping to unlock the secrets of these two thousand years old ancient texts. Then witness the bold and daring works of more than sixty artists when Scripps College in Claremont, California unveils its current exhibition “In the Hands of the Collector.” The popular exhibition of ceramics at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery celebrates its eightieth show by pulling together works representing items from collector Fred Marer and pieces collected by Forrest L. Merrill, and the combination of works traces the evolution of ceramics from vessels to sculpture resulting in an exciting and dynamic exhibition!
