Episode 5 of TCE TV’s Season 2 celebrates one of the guiding principles of the show’s producer TransCultural Exchange. Ever since TransCultural Exchange came into being in the late ‘80s, the organization’s projects have been multidisciplinary – open to artists of all disciplines and, except in rare cases, open to anyone, anywhere in the world. For this episode, our guest host Yemi Alalade, therefore, thought to focus on an inherently multi-disciplinary medium: Book Arts. Books are not only made up of words and/or images but in the hands of some artists, they are also meant to be sculptural, as parts of installations, small theaters, and more. Throughout Episode 5, Yemi looks at programs that support book artists, talks to some of the artists who make books, and – if you’ve never made a book – lets you know of some places where you can learn how. Episode 5’s Featured Programs in Order of Appearance: The Wild Pansy Press, The Writers’ Room, Narva Art Residency, Sointula Book Art Retreat, TransCultural Exchange’s 2025 International Conference on Opportunities in the Arts, Avenues for Daring
