Computer Programming 4 Kids with Scratch 2 in HD and SD
This is the 17th of 27 TV show episodes to teach kids (about 5th grade and up) programming using Scratch 2.
This episode:
1) uses Lists to make strange and funny sentences, and
2) introduces the Set Tempo Block.
The first challenge creates a program that generates sentences from random words. By using lists for each part of the sentence (e.g. subject and adjective) random combinations create various sentences ranging from nonsense and strangeness to believable and funny. This is a very fun program to play with. Children will enjoy adding their own words and making their own sentences.
The last challenge is a short challenge that explores the Set Tempo Command Block which affects how long notes and drum beats are played. This challenge also reinforces the advantage of creating new blocks (procedure blocks).
